Note: A grade of 85 or higher is an NFL-caliber rating, while a grade between 84-79 is considered "very good." Anything from 78-68 is considered "above average." 60 is considered "average" as that is where each player's grade begins and then goes up or down from there. Below average grades range from 50-59, and anything below 50 is considered "poor."

Purdue defensive grades and snap counts...
Quick notes on defense...
- Not the worst overall defensive grade of the season at 57.4. That belongs to the Boilers' efforts against UCLA, where they graded a season-low 51.1.
- Three starters were among the high-graded overall, led by Don Saunders (80.5), Jeremy Lewis (75.3), and Breeon Ishmail (73.2). Part of Saunders "very good" grade came because of two pass breakups, which led the team along with Smiley Bradford.
- Trey Smith had the highest pass rushing grade of 80.9. He had three tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss on Saturday.
- Charles Correa was the worst-graded Boilermaker with a 28.4 overall grade. Jojo Hayden wasn't too ahead of Correa with a 48.6 overall grade. Not something you like to see from your starting linebackers. Reserve Winston Berglund had the best grade among that group with a 67.0 while logging 24 snaps.
- TJ Lindsey only logged two snaps against Notre Dame. \
