Summary
Pick/market: Both massive disappointments with regards to very high preseason expectations.
Both massive disappointments with regards to very high preseason expectations.
I know in 2003, we had Cody, Reggie and ET but the Ohio State opening game was an early wake up call and the Dawgs really didnt have a consistent run game to complement the above trio. 6-6 with no Bowl game and head scratching defeats (Nevada and at Arizona) wiith some road blow outs thrown in (UCLA even after leading 16-7 at the half and Cal). I believe Fetters even predicted a Natty that year and I thought the Dawgs would be elite as well.
2021 showed that the Covid 2020 season was Fool's Gold and there was a systemic program dysfunction w/ leadership and once again......baffling losses (Montana, CU, Wazzu, and at home to a weak ASU team) w/ little to no run game.
I am hoping I am wrong and some key players get healthy but I will, as always, cheer on our Dawgs until the end.
The difference is 2021 had a ton of young talent that stayed resilient and were the backbone of the '23 Natty Champ game run,
