Actually this season has gone as I expected except for the K-Sate game. I thought that would be closer. But new staff featuring a first time head coach. Gotta be a learning curve even if coming from an experienced football family. New and young QB coming from the Big Sky. There has got to be a learning curve. Game moves a little faster and playing vs. better athletes. The poor play in the 3rd quarter Saturday is not unique to this team. Many WSU teams have found ways to lose. I was pleasantly surprised by the Apple Cup. Disappointed by the K-State game. And glad the Duquene game was not an embarrassment. And Saturday we showed some good things. Just not consistent. Hopefully the team is coming together and we see gradual improvement week to week. Even better would be a big jump which could happen if it all comes together for all 3 phases and the same time. Anyway, if you don't like this years team you may be happy to know halve or more won't be back. Between graduation and transfer portal. What a sorry mess. It has gotten very hard to root for a team when wondering if or expecting your favorite player leaving before next season.
