wbb240gocards said... (original post) As someone who hasn’t followed this at all lately, why do you say that? show more Because the cap on power conferences in this bill is now at 20, up from 19 which is what the bill previously said. This means there are more open spots in the Big Ten and the SEC. 6 total I believe. (2 Big Ten, 4 SEC.) That means 6 ACC schools are going to bail to go there (Clemson, Miami, Florida State, UNC, Virginia, etc) and four remaining ACC brands like us, (maybe Pitt, maybe NC State, VTech, etc) go to the Big 12. The Big 12 will become the de facto third power conference, and the ACC will become the AAC. Best case scenario would be to land that 6th spot into the SEC or Big Ten. Worst case scenario would be to not even be picked up by the Big 12, and be forced to become a part of Stanford’s new Ivy League where we clearly don’t belong. Brohm and company completely botching the football program is making the best case scenario look like a massive pipe dream. It may have been possible if he led us to the CFP a time or two. But not now. Thankfully he’s at least kept us relevant enough that I do think we would get the Big 12 invite over a lot others in the ACC.
