If he had a spiral fracture (and I’ve had one myself), the healing of the bone is only the first part of the recovery story. Another part is the resulting structural integrity of the bone—which is almost certainly being held together with plates & screws, or a titanium rod, or both. For a RB, that repaired bone must withstand repeated punishment from helmets and shoulder pads. There’s never been known case of a running back sustaining this type of injury and returning to play. Best to hope and pray for Ahmad, but don’t expect anything. As someone else said, there’s certainly no guarantee his leg will ever be the same.
