So how good is Bama this year, anyway?

Anyone that pays even the slightest attention to college football knows Bama and that you can never truly count them out, but we're a few years out now from Saban's retirement and it's clear that Bama isn't the dynasty they used to be.
Per the NCAA website, State currently ranks at 4th in total offense with 2133 yards and 22 TDs scored and ranks at 74th in total defense with 1415 yards and 7 TDs given up. Alabama is at 24th on total offense with 1886 yards and 21 TDS scored and at 47th on total defense having given up 1261 yards and 9 TDs.
Throught four weeks, Bama is 4-0. They started the year with a 48-10 win over East Carolina (currently 2-2 including a 3 point win over Old Dominion). It was 38-10 at halftime so this one was never in doubt.
In week two, they beat Kentucky 45-17. The Wildcats actually led this game 17-13 at the half but then Bama woke up in the second half and ran away with it, scoring 32 unanswered points. Yes Kentucky went on to beat Texas A&M so this win could potentially look somewhat impressive, BUT I think the Wildcats are a bit of fool's gold and the Aggies are just bad this year. My reasoning on that is Kentucky's other games this season are a 45-13 win over Youngstown State and a 45-21 win over South Alabama that they only led 24-21 at the half. Hardly impressive.
In week three, Bama beat Florida State 50-36. FSU won the first quarter with a 14-3 lead but Bama scored 23 in the 2nd and went into halftime with a 26-21 lead. They outscored FSU in the second half 24-15, so yeah a two score win but they never quite ran away with it. For more context on this win, FSU is 2-2 with wins over New Mexico State (1-3) and Central Arkansas (2-3). They lost to SMU 27-24 with the Mustangs doing everything they could to lose the game but FSU refused to win. FSU is not a good team, hasn't been a good team for a while, and will be firing their coach any moment now.
In week four, they beat South Carolina 49-18. This is the game that could concern Bulldog fans the most as State just beat this same Gamecocks team by a single score. If you watched anything from this game though, you'll know the circumstances were quite different. This time, South Carolina was on the road, and their spirit seems to be broken. There is clearly trouble in the locker room and this is another team that will pretty clearly be firing their coach. If you haven't already seen the viral clips of Dylan Stewart from this game, you should go give those a look. I think it's also important to remember that State started as poorly as you could imagine against the Gamecocks and still won in dominant fashion, allowing some points in garbage time while letting the clock run. The Bulldogs outscored South Carolina 27-11 in the second half and all of that 11 came in the final four minutes of the game. Don't let the final score lie to you, both State and Bama dominated the Gamecocks. Bama just got to play them at home and after they had been thoroughly rattled by State.
In my opinion, State has the better resume through four weeks. Since State thumped them in their own house, Minnesota went on to beat Washington on the road and is sitting at 3-1 on the season. Compare that to FSU who can't beat anyone with a pulse despite how hard they're trying to lose to you (seriously, what was that, SMU?) No one in their right mind will try to tell you that Kentucky is better than Missouri.
Am I saying this all means State will win? No. But I think if the Bulldogs can put together a complete game and not beat themselves, we'll have a great shot. I am concerned with the Bulldogs being banged up currently and as far as I'm currently aware, Bama is pretty healthy coming into this game. This will be another big time QB duel but I'll pick K1 against anyone in the country at this point. Man I wish it was a night game, but it will still be insane in Davis Wade on Saturday.
Let's find a way to get it done and shock the world. Hail State!
