My father always said that, provided your QB has large hands with a resulting sure grip, a passing team has the advantage in the rain. He explained that receivers know when they are going to make their cuts, and the defender does not. As a result, the receiver is much more likely to make a better, surer cut and the defender is more likely to slip and slide.
