IF the CFP selection committe ranked today
Summary
Intel: "Erroneous because there isn't a Big 12 or G5 team" isn't really an argument against the ranking.
TexasBucknut said... (original post) Erroneous No B12, or G5 team ranked. DOA but good try show more "Erroneous because there isn't a Big 12 or G5 team" isn't really an argument against the ranking. There is no conference quota in the CFP Top 25. The committee's stated job is to rank the 25 best teams. Its criteria include: • Strength of schedule • Head-to-head results • Results against common opponents • Other relevant circumstances affecting performance Nothing says: "You must rank X number of Big 12 teams or at least one G5 team." Now, if you want to argue that **Texas Tech, Houston, BYU, Utah, Boise State, etc. have resumes that deserve to be in the Top 25**, that's a legitimate argument. Show me who they should replace and why? But simply saying "No Big 12 or G5 = DOA" doesn't demonstrate anything. In fact, the CFP rules specifically contemplate the possibility that the highest-ranked champion from the G5 conferences **might not even be in the committee's Top 25**. If that happens, the committee separately identifies that team for the automatic-qualifier process.
