Some parents are not comfortable sending their kids to a big state school where they can get away with not showing up to class. At least this parent was for his particular son. And a school still small enough to feel like you know most of the student body by the time you graduate is more attractive than knowing the kids in your dorm or apartment complex. Add in the chance to study in a different part of the country and be exposed to intelligent people from all across the country was appealing. Then throw in a beautiful campus, access to two cities, better weather, etc., d1 football, coeds , etc. Very glad he chose TCU and I have no doubt he’ll be very successful. You cowboys may hate the invasion of your state but nobody had a clue about TCU up here 20-30 years ago, now it’s got a legit buzz up in the northeast.
If only TCU realized that continued football success would accelerate their national profile and expose even faster…. The day we stepped foot on campus I thought of TCU as a Southwestern version of Villanova - great campus, very similar kids and parents, huge upside…
