UW Football Spring Practice Articles/Video (Week #1)
Summary
UW NIL doubled since last year; Cowboys' QB mobility and execution issues cost 2024-25 seasons more than talent; dual-threat QB with legs can extend drives, reduce turnovers.
The NIL increased since last year by more than double. Cowboys had enough on defense last season though the transfer portal (despite limited NIL) to have a successful season. Lack of mobility and execution at QB has cost them the last 2 seasons. Adding the combination of game swinging interceptions 2024 and losing 2 close games in the red zone in 2025. I think you can find good, undervalued players in the cracks and keep a nucleus of players in the program will help be successful. But, a good NIL level would certainly help elevate talent. Good QB play/execution with dual ability will go along ways in helping this team. All you have to do, is analyze game-by-game and see a number of potential wins left on the table because of swing TO's and not moving the chains on offense because lack of execution, where I think QB with legs can help extend drives plus efficient thrower.
