If that had been a BYU player... the coog media office would have had it playing on a loop in Times Square and calling it a cultural moment. And on another point… I’m convinced that a lot of the local puff pieces about ‘special’ BYU players are basically pre‑written by the BYU media office and handed off to the complicit outlets. Many in the local media are simply tired... lazy... and/or happy to let the Cougar PR shop do their work for them. If BYU provides the copy... they’ll publish it...no questions asked.
