Trying to figure out the logic behind this and can only come up with this. I don't think there is a lot, or any, federal dollars in college sports. So this puts schools in the position of risking their federal research dollars or risking losing NIL lawsuits. I can understand trying to push schools into an acceptable outcome but both outcomes are bad. Maybe the path forward is that all schools will realize how screwed they are and scream at their reps and senators to get on board with congressional action. It could work but I think it would more effective if the president just told congress he wanted a bill before football season.
