The national narrative around LSU that fans will surely embrace
Summary
High-tempo offense develops LSU defense intensity; practicing against tempo all year builds constant defensive edge.
Great perspective in your post. Of course its based on some solid opinions from other sport's media input, but I agree with your assessment. I know a lot is made of LK's high-tempo on offense, but the fact being overlooked is how the high-tempo offense affects the LSU defensive development going forward. The intensity of the offense is having a duplicate effect on the defense. The intensity is forcing an equal effect on the defensive development, but not so when practicing against normal offenses. IMO, if a defense has to practice against a high-tempo offense year round the defense will develop a much higher intensity on your defense 24/7 for every game. A high-tempo offense should be the same for defenses and equal on the field year round.
