I will say, as a former “fixer” myself, the more screwed up the organization, the more fun to be had! Expectations are lower and any immediate successes are grandly celebrated, hence the comments on this thread. However, it’s not easy and there is typically significant personnel resistance to change. At an event, I mentioned to Jim that rarely does any athletic department reps sign their emails or close a phone call with “Go Terps!” He said that was culture and I completely agree. I eagerly await that simple change.
