Summary
Arch Manning completion rate 61.4%, subpar accuracy; questions why he's Heisman favorite over Sayin's 80% season.
Long introduction here:
Arch Manning is being pumped up again as the clear favorite to win the Heisman and be the top draft choice. At least this time around, the media have a season's worth of starts to look at to explain why, but I still don't get why. He had three games where his completion % was above 65%, Sam Houston, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt and granted, OU had a great defense so thats a major feat, but we was under 50% against UTEP, UK and late in the season against A&M and barely above 60% against four other late season games. He only three 7 picks all season out of 404 attempts but his accuracy for the season was quite subpar for a top QB (61.4%).
So tell me, what does everyone see in him aside from his name and his size? Is it that he can pick up a lot of yards rushing (he picked up 155 against scUM and had two other 50+ yard rushing games)?
And can you tell me why suddenly everyone is down on Sayin after having a near 80% completion rate for an entire season?
Thanks Steve.
