JL is killing it. He has to be in the top 5 of the best LB coaches in this day and age of college football, if not the best. In a way, he reminds me of Fickell, who I thought had a very keen eye for talent , defensively. IMO, James will surpass Hartline as our greatest recruiter, positional coach, not a head coach. And then there is development, see draft. His hands were all over the development of Arvell and Sonny. Preseason last year, there was a thread somewhat about who was the better LB between the 2. Most were hands down Sonny, but there were some, myself included, that saw Arvell as the better LB. My reasoning, at the time, was Arvell ran down hill at the snap with bad intentions when he rotated in as a backup the year prior. Sonny, at the time, was a step slower on his reaction time due to playing safety, but he was damn good at it. Last year, Arvell exploded out the gate, while Sonny took a back seat. But you could see progression of his development explode during the season, where he finished as the best LB in the class, but also the best sure tackling LB.
