Offseason analysis: Oklahoma's starting offensive line in great shape, but depth questions remain
Summary
OU o-line plagued by injuries past two years; Bedenbaugh inserted three freshmen with healthy Nwaiwu; finally stable 2024.
JetDoc said... (original post) I hope that the o-line comes out and smash mouths every opponent on the other side of the ball but after watching how long they take to gell has bee... show more In OU's defense (and maybe Bedenbaugh's, too)...the offensive line was very snakebit the past two years with a ton of injuries that didn't allow makeshift lineups to gel or get their chemistry down. In 2024, it was Branson Hickman, Geirean Hatchett, Jake Taylor, Troy Everett, Spencer Brown and Jacob Sexton that got injured early and often...while last year it was Everett, Taylor and Sexton again, plus Logan Howland and Derek Simmons getting various injuries that kept them all out of the lineup. I think Bedenbaugh finally said, screw it, and put the three freshmen in along with the only healthy veteran (Nwaiwu) and ran with it! SoonerGrant
