Top 5 defensive standouts from TCU spring camp
Summary
Good D-Line pressure is prerequisite for CB play; lacking dominant edge rusher since Horton.

(original post) Easiest way to increase sacks is to make sure the QB holds onto the ball longer. show more Watching Miami, Tech and the other playoff teams, their D-Line consistently put pressure on the QB. I would say the opposite, that good D-Line play makes for good CB play, not vice versa. It is virtually impossible to guard these WR’s for 4-5 seconds if your D-Line can’t get pressure. I feel like it has been a while since we had a dominant force as an edge rusher. Maybe I’m forgetting someone. Even the playoff team didn’t have that. Horton had an average season until the Michigan game.
