University president must align with athletics/football; CEO reports to BOV with dotted line to president.
It’s an easy situation to solve. In the hiring process, make it abundantly clear that the presidential position is to be completely aligned with athletics and football in particular. It should be further noted that the president should endeavor to SUPPORT the BOV and the Athletic CEO appointed under them in order to add value to the athletic program and the university as a whole. The CEO should probably have a direct reporting line to the BOV with a dotted line to the president. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.
