Ferentz animated on punting rule
Summary
Ferentz’s punt-rule complaint stems from exotic off-balance punt formations and timeouts, but poster says Iowa’s punts aren’t exotic.
If you go to the 5:00 mark of that video, you will start to see the formations that prompted these changes.
1. Off balance formations with non linemen on the LOS and multiple players eligible for a pass.
2. Lone center and punter on one hash and 5 other "linemen" on the other hash. This often led to teams taking timeouts. It was strategic in nature.
Not sure why Ferentz is upset. He doesn't do anything exotic on punt or kick. He just always has elite specialists.
