Transcript excerpt: But as a coaching staff, as an offensive staff, we need to go forward with the guy who has been here, who is, again, working his tail off to try and get healthy. We had the schedule up on the screen earlier. I mean, I don't see a situation, if let's say it's a six-game suspension negotiated for Sorsby, 4-2 would be a, 4-2 would be a, oh gosh, Brendan, come save us, because you've gotten off to a 1-2 start in conference play. But for those listening at home, Abilene Christian, Oregon State, Houston, Sam Houston, at Colorado, Arizona State. Houston and Arizona State, without a doubt, challenging opponents, but those games are both at home. Everyone else should be a situation where, I mean, you should be, they're third string. Oh, man, I don't have it top of mind. He's the quarterback from Tulsa who just transferred in. I think he would be the starter for Hammond for the Abilene Christian, Oregon State game. But I just, I think that that's going to be looking awful a lot like a 5-1 start to me, if not 6-0. One thing I want to point out, let's say Brendan Sorsby does get six-game suspension. Do we see what the seventh game of the season is? So, like, Brendan Sorsby returns playing at Cincinnati, the school he left last year. Like, looking at the schedule, Arizona State's one of your tougher games. Oklahoma State could be tough, or it's on the road. Overall, I just feel like this is a very manageable schedule for Texas Tech to win the Big 12. You don't have to play BYU. You're not playing Utah. Like, you can get by for those Abilene Christian, Oregon State, and Houston games without Will Hammond. And then you can use Sam Houston as kind of like a warm-up for him to get him back in the groove of things, and then hit the road for Colorado. I just don't, it's, I understand why they went and they gave Sorsby the money they gave him. I understand why they wanted him. I just don't, I feel like he's a luxury they didn't need as much as they just wanted. Well, we didn't know about Hammond, because you pursue, let's see, they pursued Sorsby in December. Does that sound right? Yeah, that would make sense. Okay, so at that point, Hammond's only two months separated from tearing his ACL. You've got no idea what the recovery is going to be looking like. So, from that perspective, I understand.
