Transcript excerpt: And there's one program that immediately came to mind for me. Uh, it's a program that lost most of its team. It lost its coach and maybe it's looking at that Redbird Capital deal, scratching its chin, wondering if we should if we should take a little bit of that because maybe we need it to keep this thing afloat. The Iowa State Cyclones, >> I feel like have had one of the worst off seasons. Like they they'd lose their quarterback who was a veteran quarterback and was one of the better quarterbacks in their league. They lost some of the top players like on defense. Orange is off to the NFL. Most of anybody who was of value is now a Penn State Nitney line with Matt Campbell, with that coaching staff. And we know how important Matt Campbell and how successful that coaching staff has been in Ames. So I I just feel like I talked earlier like Oklahoma State, great vibes, even if you're not sure of how successful it's going to be. Maybe Iowa State doesn't fall off the face of the earth, but vibes wise, I feel like you have to have a lot of anxiety right now if you're a Cyclones fan. Um, it's just I feel bad for him, too, because you had your guy. It was right there and I think you knew one day you were going to lose him, but you didn't think he was going to bring everything with him. I mean, I I just don't know if that was a reality um that hit Cyclone fans until now. So yeah, I think they probably were devastated of one of the most depleted teams in the country in so in both facets like they lost the coach and they lost because you're assuming he took his best players with him. You lost your quarterback plus the other crew. I think it's a devastating offseason for Iowa State. >> Yeah, agreed on that for sure. It I guess we'll see what they can be. I I haven't done their summer school yet, but I'm very curious to see like like what the early returns are there. It's it's again it's the Big 12 and once you get past that top tier, anything can happen. But I do feel like there's a decent chance that Iowa State could finish in the bottom third of that league this year. And it's not a knock on who they brought in to replace Matt Campbell. It's just having to rehaul that entire roster. Um but who do you who would you conclude or include on your list of terrible offseasons? >> I mean like obviously if we're going to hype them up when they're good like Florida State pretty disastrous offseason. Um you know very worried about ticket sales. uh you know like no energy getting smoked in recruiting. Uh I think the portal class was pretty underwhelming. Uh they you know we we've talked about the timeline by which they did the you know will we keep Mike Rall or not thing and then um you know the u like the taking forever you know getting turned down a lot on the front office thing. Not really sure they upgraded that at all actually.
