Transcript excerpt: Um, speaking of money and people getting a lot of it, another story from over the weekend, the Big 10 distributed a record 1.37 billion dollars to its 18 schools. I'm going to repeat that again. That is uh that is a jump from last year which was 883 million. So from that aspect, if you're wondering why the Big 10 added Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA, there you go. Of the schools, it's important to remember that not everybody's getting a full share. And based on like television ratings and all that kind of stuff, bonuses, Ohio State, you'll be shocked to learn, got the most because they definitely need it. They got 91.6 million. Penn State got 89 million and pretty much everybody else was between 76 and 80 million except for Oregon and Washington. Oregon got 48.4, Washington got 46.7, and so did you. I don't see the USC and UCLA numbers here, but they all got, you know, like their half shares pretty much. So, they're they're still broke boys. Although, if you look at the current recruiting rankings, UCLA and USC are spending that money because they're fourth and fifth in the 2027 class. But what was more the most interesting thing to me this aside from the fact that the Big 10 is super rich is that apparently Tony Patiti got like four and a half million. Jim Delaney who is no longer the commissioner of the Big 10 received more than six million in bonuses, [clears throat] deferred compensation and consulting fees. So the former commissioner is making more than the current one apparently. That's a pretty sweet setup right there. just like a thanks for all you've done. [laughter] >> That's awesome. I got 53 new players coming in. uh you know a significant portion coming with him but I just think that's a program that's the rich tradition pride that feels a little bit beaten down. I think there's a lot more hope than optimism and I think there should be uh around Oklahoma State as them as one of the bigger winners. >> I have Oregon on this list too uh for for a couple reasons. One if you look at like how much they had to pay for those starting four defensive linemen to come back like all four of those backups got paid in the offseason to go be starters elsewhere. Um, but I I I was talking to to to Matt of um of Oregon 247 and like man like they legitimately probably got four top 100 picks to come back to school on the D line. Like and he's like I feel like we're talking about this too much on the episode. I'm like yeah anybody who has to block those guys will not feel like we're talking about this too much because they're going to feel it every snap like that. So that reason, the fact you got Dante Moore to come back and you also like they might have upgraded the D coordinator honestly going from TSH to to Chris Hampton and Evan Stewart how good he's he's looked so far. Like if Evan Stewart is back, I don't think they're Ohio State, but they're really in a strong convers like the very very short list for who could conceivably have the best receiving core in the country because you still have year two decor and more. And they they also up I mean my feelings on him are well known, but they also very much upgraded at backup quarterback because like we're seeing like >> to win a national title now, you've got to play like 16 games. Like injuries happen. If something happens to Dante Moore and he misses time, whether it's in the regular season or in the playoff, you're able to bring in Dylan Raola off the bench and have him, you know, kind of fill in. That's a big bonus for a team. It's just a great insurance plan in case something goes wrong. So I agree with Oregon. I think they had a great offseason. Danny, your thing with Oklahoma State. I I don't know if what Oklahoma State has done is going to like transform into a great season for the Cowboys. Like I don't know if they're going to be contending for a Big 12 title, but I just think vibes wise with where that program has been the last few years to have a new head coach coming in to have pretty much an entirely new roster. If you're an Oklahoma State fan, you're finally you're probably thinking like, "All right, okay. At least now I don't you know it's I I don't feel fatalistic where it's like, oh great, we're going to win four or five games. It's going to be a long season." It's like maybe maybe we'll put together a run. So I think from that aspect good off season. Another couple of ones just we don't have to go too far in depth on but they'll fan bases who I'm sure will appreciate us not going too far in depth on them. Don't know if you've heard of them. We're going to learn about the Buckeyes going into 2026. On Wednesday, we'll have Nebraska. Friday, another national title contender in Oregon. Saturday, we've got Boston College and UCF. And on Sunday, we're gonna get the Arizona Wildcats. Bud, what of these of this week's shows? What stands out to you? Which which one did you find was the you learned the most or you were the most surprised by while recording? >> Uh, so like going back over what like how many injuries BC had last year? They were literally trying to move on um like move guys from receiver to DB during the middle of the year. Uh some interesting stuff as far as like personnel fit with what they brought in. I know everybody will be really excited about that, but to me it was pretty interesting. Um Ohio State was we kind of, you know, took a deep dive on on some of the schematic stuff, which was pretty fun uh with Dave. Like honestly, all these guys are great. So, um yeah, I'm I'm certainly excited uh to have all these come out. Oregon, you just getting into like there's a lot of certainty, like a lot of positions and certainty of like really high level players. You know, if that offensive line clicks, I think uh I think they could be cooking with gas there for sure. Well, I'm I'm looking forward to him this week. Uh and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys again on Thursday for the mailbag. I'm also looking forward to se
