Transcript excerpt: So he's probably still thinking a lot at the line of scrimmage, but you got to expedite that process so that he's comfortable this September as opposed to when it's November. No, um >> [laughter] >> I Listen, I think we're looking at this the wrong way. I tweeted it the other day when I saw the final score graphic. This is just a Michigan defense that is going to be absolutely generational because earlier in the show we talked about Florida's 45 to 42 spring game. The final score of this game was 7 to 6. Like that is just Michigan might not give up 20 points all season long. They're just going undefeated. Bryce can keep going 3 and 9 for 22 yards and they're going to win every game anyway. That defense is just that good. I Defensive line is a real strength. That was from my little pad. Unfortunately for Bryce Underwood, this game was on television. >> You could watch this. >> [laughter] >> Because it's not just the three for nine. I'm again like I'm going to ask you two here. >> [snorts] >> UM funny scene. It is the one-two punch for me, Tom. Jordan Marshall and Savion Hider is great. And maybe these uh these maybe these Bryce Underwood concerns are eliminating me from putting Michigan in the national title discussion. But if they have a sick defensive line and if they can run the ball really effectively with a couple good backs, I could mean it's not going to change my opinion on whether Michigan can win eight nine games. Does that sound right? Just seems like the bones The bones are too good. Kyle Whittingham and co- and the whole coaching staff is generally a group that I would grade highly enough to think that you could mostly roll the balls out with this crew and win seven eight games. You could yeah, you could look at it like if Bryce Underwood doesn't take a step forward, this is an eight and four team. And if Bryce Underwood does take a step forward, they could be 12 and 0 team. You know what I'm saying? It's like how good Underwood is will be how good this team is. But the floor is still pretty high. I think it's seven is the floor. That's like Tommy Carr has to come in. We've We've We've broken glass and we're just going to build for the future. What if Tommy Carr does come in, leads him to a playoff, and then we get like a semi-final between CJ and Tommy? Like the Civil War, like brother against brother. I mean, just even the fact of a a semi-final between Notre Dame and Michigan. >> And then it's brother versus brother. You guys you you you guys in the NFL >> War with Hyder in the backfield? >> [laughter] >> Oh, that the match-up we could see. >> [laughter] >> But buddy, we're we're feeding families out here. >> [laughter] >> Um Uh Garrett, I nah, I'm not going to put your business on Front Street, but Gar- Garrett's auto correct for Hyder. It might might be telling on himself, you know. >> [laughter] >> That's right. Coming up on the other side, not every transfer portal quarterback is going to hit the ground running, but even with a couple stars out, Darian Mensah looked good. What can we take away from a half-thud, half-contact Saturday morning uh down in South Florida?
