SEC to secede?
Summary
Pick/market: While I mostly agree here...
FairfaxBuck said... (original post) The SEC isn’t going anywhere without the B1G. And vice versa. show more While I mostly agree here... IF the Big Ten formed its own organization first and then invited, say, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Houston, Tulane, Florida, Miami of Florida, Texas and Texas A&M - to join them? They don't need what is left of the SEC. They would have enough of the great football powers -- or at least enough geographical influence - to crown a national champion. The Big Ten would have only Oklahoma and Alabama missing from the top 10 most wins in college football all time in the FBS division. Now, it gets spotty at 11-20 for the Big Ten with a high number of SEC schools in that slot...but the marquee names in the top 10 would be enough. I don't think it goes down this way. I tend to agree with you that they will go with one another. However, the Big Ten does not have to have the SEC. The SEC DOES need the Big Ten at this point to look Legit
