Pick/market: I really enjoyed the G5 Hive podcast and especially Dan’s thoughts and insights.
I really enjoyed the G5 Hive podcast and especially Dan’s thoughts and insights. I thought Dan did a great job and continues to grow in that role. I pretty much agree that 7-8 regular season wins is a pretty good projection. I agree with Dan that we need to emerge with a 2-2 record in the first four games making the Coastal Carolina game pivotal. Although it’s difficult to see us beating an improved Vanderbilt team on the road or Virginia on the road, I’m hoping we play a competitive game against them, much better than we played against Wake Forest this past year. I agree with Info Hound that our offense should be at least as good as last year’s offense. I think the defense will be better but how much better is the question. I think we have a chance to be better at applying pressure on the QB. Noah Matthews, Scott, Singleton, and Gorham have all shown flashes of being good pass rushers, maybe having more potential in this area than we’ve had in the past. It will be up to the coaches to devise schemes and disguised defenses to take advantage of their talent. I think at LB and CB we will be comparable to last year, with maybe a little more depth at LB than last year. We may be slightly better at safety with some of the newcomers we’ve added to go along with our experience in Seay and Ali.
