How to Deal with the Stadium East Side
Summary
LB: It was a mistake for the previous regime to pull the bait and switch from the drawings we saw on the SJSU website at the time of the ceremony to demolish the East side.

We should have had this, but instead we have the monstrosity and useless grass hill that we have now. I talked to someone who was a high level administrator in the athletics department at the time who had a big hand in the project and they were extremely angry about what happened. It included premium suites, a field level hospitality area and a rooftop hospitality area for fans. It also would have solved the ADA ramp issue to the field which now takes away future seating plans on the East side. Jeff has said that he did not have a hand in the planning or design of the building, but he has failed to do anything to improve upon what we have now. He has been here long enough to have at least started something to fix the issues. He has failed in his duties and assumes all responsibility for the current failures of the East side of the stadium. I’d also like to know about the North Endzone bar. From what I understood at the time from posters here who were providing construction updates, the bar was planned for (weight on the concrete, electrical ran, etc.) when the North Endzone seating was demolished and the video board was built. Where is the bar? These improvements will pay for themselves over time. Can even get a corporate sponsor for the bar or East side stands to recoup the money. Everybody at SJSU is so unwilling to put money forward to build something that matters and will improve the national appearance of the university. The university makes plenty of money from the students for campus improvements, why are they not putting it towards something that actually matters like the football stadium. Hopefully the athletics department is smart and uses the PAC 12 settlement money on improving the football stadium, but seeing the leadership we have, I doubt it.
