Summary
- SMU's linebacker room is presented as a potential strength if the key returners stay healthy, especially Alexander Kilgore after a less healthy 2025.
- The expected linebacker core centers on Kilgore, Brandon Booker, and Brandon Meizano, with Meizano described as a rotational player whose role grew as the season went on.
- The returning trio combined for 174 tackles in 2025, giving new DC Maurice Crum Jr. a production base to build around.
- The original linebacker depth chart was supposed to include Kilgore and Barker, so availability is a major variable in whether the room reaches its ceiling.
