Jaksa interviews Drinkall
Summary
Coach owned spring game scheduling, wants attendance records. Concerns: QB downfield throwing ability, three similar-skilled QBs may force rotation for designed runs.
I watched the full video. I liked the clear and transparent explanation as to what happened with the spring game. Coach owned it and will make sure it's on a Friday or Saturday next year. I also enjoyed how he accepts full responsibility for other key aspects such as fan attendance. He wants to break attendance records and acknowledged it's on them to provide excitement for fans to want to come out to experience a gameday in Mount Pleasant. Lastly, I enjoyed the ice cream banter and hearing more about his midwestern roots.
I'm still very concerned about the offense and wasn't sold on just saying it will be more exciting, or, we'll tailor it to our best XI. How will it be more exciting? Do we have a quarterback that can consistently throw the ball downfield, especially if playing from behind? He mentioned the benefit of having three quarterbacks with similar skill sets. Hopefully, we don't have to rotate quarterbacks in for designed runs if they all have similar skilllsets.
