Our Biggest Problem Is… Two 5* QBs?
Summary
QB/OL: I’ve got a question for everyone that’s been so down on this team this offseason.
I’ve got a question for everyone that’s been so down on this team this offseason. It’s not directed at anyone in particular so keep that in mind. This is also my indirect rant about the negative coverage we got coming out of SEC Media Days. Let’s time travel back to January 27, 2021, the day CJH was hired and I told you that five years later we’d have: • A QB battle between two 5* freshmen • Arguably one of if not the best WR rooms in the SEC with two 5* receivers • An offensive line anchored by a 5* LT we pulled over Ohio State • A walk on from Karns who worked his way into the lead back role • A defensive coordinator who just won a national championship in 2024 • One of the deepest linebacker rooms we’ve had in years • A championship caliber strength and conditioning program Would you have believed me? Now let me ask you one more question. If I’d told you back then that our biggest concern heading into 2026 would be deciding which 5* quarterback should start, would you have signed up for that? I’m not saying we’re guaranteed to make the Playoff or win the SEC far from itWe’ve got questions. Every team does. But some of y’all are acting like this program is falling apart because we don’t know who our QB is yet. Five years ago we’d have begged for this roster, this level of talent and these kinds of “problems.” Maybe this team exceeds expectations and maybe it doesn’t. I’d rather let them take the field before deciding the season is already over predicting 5 or 6 wins.
