I personally think that we are getting tons of respect from the coaches to be at #29 preseason, which is a testament to what Coach B has built here in Champaign. As lstewart mentioned, our roster has been nearly completely turned over (and we have a brand new QB in the system). I truly do not know what to expect from the Illini until they start playing the season. Going into last season, the Illini returned a bulk of the team from the 10 win season, and the Illini were justifiably hyped in the polls. As it turns out, the Illini underperformed that ranking (I think we overhyped the quality of the returning roster slightly), but still had a very solid season (at least to Illini standards). Last season was supposed to be the season we were competing for a CFP position with this season being the "rebuild". To have the "rebuild" season be seen as a top 30 team from the Coaches, I will certainly take it.
