We should have a better passing game, because of maturation alone (though the Harbaugh years have been pretty lean so far on explosive passing plays). We have four returning starters on the OL, one a potential All American. And the RB room is much deeper than last year. Almost inconceivable for the running game not to move up to at least the B1G average (even with Harbaugh's predictable schemes). Defense has a lot of individual talent. If Collins can somehow temper his "chaos" attack (which produces some great sack and TFL stats) with a more seamless defense that isn't so vulnerable to explosive plays, this could be a ranked team. Honestly, the talent is there. Whether the coordinators squander or misuse it is another story. ALSO, if we find a FG kicker whose range is 50 yards instead of 40, we will win at least one more close game, maybe two. I believe that this is a rare year in which Minnesota will bring significantly more individual experience AND talent to the game than Iowa will. And we have the Hawkeyes at home. But Iowa will have a meaningful advantage in Coordinator experience and creativity, and--of course--in STs productivity. Could PJ, in year 10, get his first home victory over the Hawkeyes? If not this year, when?
