Some have said that we only beat teams that were down; that we didn't inspire confidence blah blah blah. Our coaching staff seems to be able to recognize talent and bring it here. To form a winning philosophy that the players can buy into. We'll soon see if if this is just an illusion or if we are really turning into a solid team. My hopes are sky-high. It is really fun having that hope - yes, those hopes may be dashed but who knows. Its just a bit of a hunch but I think I see something special happening. So if you want - get on board, there's plenty of room for all. Rant mode off. Go Aztecs! Disagree. Yes you can draw fans with winning football that is low scoring and boring. But you better REALLY be winning that way for fans to show up. I’m talking 12–1 type seasons ranked in the top 15. Fans will show up to watch that. But they won’t show up to watch a 9-4 version of that. However, fans will show up to watch a 9-4 team that scores 40 points a game and games are really exciting and high scoring. Most diehard fans (like the kinds that post on fan message boards) are showing up no matter what. But the family of 5 who lives in Scripps Ranch and only the mom went to SDSU isn’t going to a football game unless we’re top 15-20 or scoring a ton of points and we look like a lot of fun to watch and cheer on. Thems are just the facts. That's true. If you're having a defensive battle just about every game you better have no losses, or maybe one, to keep the crowd coming back. If you're super entertaining then you can get away with a few losses and they'll keep coming back for the high octane entertainment.
