Per Duarte: UH and The 5 for 5 Rule
Summary
QB/OL: We heard a day or two ago about a few more freshmen getting playing time this year than usual.
We heard a day or two ago about a few more freshmen getting playing time this year than usual. Duarte says: "At least a half-dozen University of Houston true freshmen could begin the season on the two-deep roster or see early playing time." As previously mentioned here is the quote with the names: "With the new "five-for-five" eligibility rule, redshirt seasons no longer exist, and coaches can play freshmen freely without worrying about saving a year of eligibility. Among the first-year players in line to begin the season in backup roles are quarterback Keisean Henderson, nickel Paris Melvin Jr., center Aaron Wolford and right guard Noah Abebe plus running back John Hebert could see action in the backfield, while defensive linemen Isaiah Broughton and Kaleb Walker and wide receiver Jeremiah Bushnell are competing for rotational spots." Our OL backups also have been confirmed. "The second-team unit includes left tackle R.J. Lee, left guard Larry Crawford, center Aaron Wolford, right guard Noah Abebe and right tackle Ronnell McLain." To those who were wondering about any additions to the roster due to court rulings CWF said: "I've heard the next couple of days, who knows?" Fritz said. "We're waiting until that's rectified and they give you an answer and then we'll start moving on it. Right now, I don't want to do anything until something actually happens."
