A tip of the hat to the NMSU Regents for approving this request. In light of unm's $58 million for their football stadium upgrade, this request from NMSU is appropriate. In year's past NMSU's decision makers relunctantly sought major legislative funding for NMSU athletic projects. I'm happy that they're paying attention to the athletic department's needs. All of the current regents were appointed by the current governor with the terms of three of the five ending at the end of the calendar year (Debbie Romero, Christopher Saucedo, and Marisol Olivas). The newly-elected governor will be making the appontments for 2027 and beyond.
