Braden Atkinson won Oregon State's quarterback competition after separating himself in the second scrimmage, with Brady Jones and Maalik Murphy pushing him throughout camp.

The staff values Atkinson's advanced processing and his willingness to stand in against pressure, traits he showed while facing Auburn's SEC defensive line behind Mercer's FCS offensive line.

Atkinson sees conceptual carryover from Mercer's offense into Mitch Dahlen's system, reducing the transition burden despite different terminology.

Oregon State believes all three quarterbacks are capable of winning games, giving the position experienced depth behind Atkinson.
