Texas enters 2026 with the heaviest defensive line in the FBS by average roster weight and the SEC's deepest collection of 300-pound interior defenders.

The Longhorns built their defensive front to hold the point of attack, constrict passing lanes and create negative plays through a combination of mass, length and athleticism.

Texas needs the defensive line to control the run early because linebacker depth remains thin despite continued roster investment through defensive-line coaching turnover.
