Nebraska defensive coordinator Rob Aurich wants composed mental processing paired with full-speed, physical execution, and he plans to coach from the sideline so he can use in-game tablets and reinforce urgency directly with players.

Aurich described Nebraska's starting defense as mature but said several rapidly developing young players remain close to Blackshirt status, keeping competition open beyond the initial awards.

Nebraska credits daily work against Dana Holgorsen's offense with forcing the defense to maintain Big Ten-caliber intensity throughout camp.
