WR Hudson Clement more comfortable, more confident entering Year Two with Illini: 'I'm looking to start fast'
Summary
-
Hudson Clement is healthy for the UAB opener after spending most of camp in a non-contact jersey because of nagging injuries.
-
Clement led Illinois receivers with 318 yards over the final seven games of 2025 and showed a strong connection with new quarterback Katin Houser during the team's open camp practice.
-
Illinois needs Clement and Collin Dixon to anchor the passing game because Jayshon Platt will miss the opener and Alex Perry could miss the season with a shoulder injury.
-
Clement's improved comfort with Illinois' tightly structured, situational offense should let him play faster after his difficult adjustment contributed to a slow start last season.
