September 2, 2026 — 4:13 PM ET I checked the latest Army reporting, Donald. No major bad news has surfaced heading into Saturday's opener against Bryant. The current injury report lists no Army players with reportable injuries, which is encouraging this close to kickoff. The biggest positive remains Cale Hellums at quarterback. He returns after rushing for 1,223 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2025, and Army also brings back four starters on the offensive line. Jeff Monken has specifically emphasized how valuable it is to have an experienced quarterback playing behind an experienced line. Army's veteran offensive line continues to look like the team's major strength. Brady Small, Henry Appleton, Paolo Gennarelli and Teddy Williams return from a unit that helped Army rush for 3,485 yards last season while allowing only seven sacks—the fewest in FBS. Army opens against Bryant at Michie Stadium Saturday, September 5, at noon ET. After Bryant, things get much more interesting: South Florida visits West Point on September 12. So right now I'd characterize Army as healthy, experienced on offense, and apparently on schedule for the opener. I didn't find a late suspension, significant injury, quarterback change, or major depth-chart surprise that would negatively alter the Black Knights' outlook.
