Ugly game, no way around it. O line looked much worse than expected, KJ looked shaky, and we saw a lot of the mistakes this staff focused on eliminating. Defense looked good, but a better QB would have hit a few of the guys we left open. Keep in mind, this defense gave up big plays to our offense in both scrimmages. All that being said- sometimes game is indicative of the rest of the season, and sometimes it’s not. The 2021 team looked bad against Rice, last year’s Indiana team played terribly against ODU, Oregon beat Idaho by 10 in 2024 week 1. This team has a lot of new and could look much more efficient as the year goes on. In short- if we play like that for the rest of the season, we could easily go 1-11. But, today is a small sample size and we’ll know much more in a week. The talk of this being Chad level, or saying we should have hired Bobby, is ludicrous.
