GAMEDAY CENTRAL: Iowa State hosting SEMO in Jack Trice Stadium
Summary
QB/OL: QB: I don’t think Raynor was as bad as the completion percentage showed.
QB: I don’t think Raynor was as bad as the completion percentage showed. I thought his deep ball was real good. When he threw it deep most of the were catchable balls. Thought his escapabilty was displayed well, and I liked he kept his eyes downfield. Thought he had two bad throws the near pick and missed rail shot or the RB.
RB: I didn’t like what I saw from the RBs visions. I thought most of them missed holes but giving benefit of the doubt because Oline was not inspiring.
TE: loved their usage in formations. Think we ran A gap power out of 5 or 6 formations. Thought the block okay
WR: Think Omari Hayes will be really good. Overall didn’t do much but weren’t asked to do much.
Oline: could tell they aren’t comfortable with each other yet, more so the right side. Several communication issues in pass pro and looked like a lot of thinking in the run blocking.
Dline: liked what I saw. One guy that flashed for me was Gilbert. He looks big and fast on the inside.
Linebackers: sully and Willich are fast and monsters. Do have concerns outside of those two
Corners: Coffey and Seth are really really good.
Safety: Goodman was one guy that I always felt was flying to the ball. Surges just seems to be in the right spot. Do have some concerns about getting beat over the top with how aggressive they played downhill.
Misc: Thought Roehl was in his back creating gaps in the defense with formations. There were lots of openings in the pass game which surprised me
