SEMO QB was solid and he was very good last week. SEMO had a game under their belt and a win on the road. I don't think avg fan realizes how much teams improve from game 1 to game 2. SEMO DL was as advertised as the team strength. They held Ind St. to 50 yds rushing..Some perspective Ind. st had 66 yrd at Purdue yesterday. ISU Offense: I'm not all that surprised that we struggled to just run A gap all day.. SEMO had 8-9 in box all game and they run blitzed on every single 1st down. Massive holding error cost 70 yds and 7pts on a holding that was 10 yards behind the RB. We scored 38 points on offense running just 43 plays. We ran nothing underneath all game from our passing game...zero. It was all deep stuff. Raynor was so so...He made some poor reads on the QB option keeper and missed a couple wide open routes. Wts, Raynor also had some dimes that were great throws deep. OL: RG spot and Center got blown up too much today. Just did not see hardly any 2nd level blocking. Flora: Stop trying to catch the damn ball on punts every time. He made some huge errors today and he got blown up on one. Get him out of the return game. He goes down and we are looking at a 2-3 win season. WR's: Caught the ball. Some great catches deep. ISU Defense: Terrell is an absolute monster. Our LB's are a bit undersized but this is the fastest group of LB's I've seen at ISU. The defense is going to have to carry ISU to wins this year. Random: We rotated a crap ton of players today...like a ton. Almost entire 2nd half we were running 2nd and 3rd string on D. I"m keeping in mind that we played a team that already got all the game 1 kinks out of the way and we are a team with 70 new players who have never played a game together. I don't think we are as bad offensively as some on here think but our OL needs to get much better.
