quality of the backs can matter, but again, it all pales in comparison to oline play - the oline was just sabotaged from the start of the season. Not having a true center was a major structural flaw, and for several different reasons the guys just weren't physical. It took 1.5 games for them to figure it out and it was too late in the Miss St game. Then injuries started happening which made everything more challenging.
