Arkansas football post-spring projected depth chart: offense
Summary
Arkansas TE Jaden Platt (6'5", 260) returns as starter after 21 catches, 296 yards last season; OL starters set since spring.
Tight end Starter: Jaden Platt Backups: Ty Lockwood , Matt Adcock , Gavin Garretson Arkansas has some retention in the tight end department, as Jaden Platt is back from last year’s team and looking to lead the tight end room. Platt came in with little fanfare last season but quickly showed he’s more than capable of handling an SEC workload. He grabbed 21 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns last season and his 6-foot-5, 260-pound frame makes him ideal in the run-blocking game as well. Behind Platt is Ty Lockwood, who played at Boston College last year after he started his career at Alabama. He’s showed some good things this offseason, as has Memphis transfer Matt Adcock. Gavin Garretson is a tall, tall man, too, and could be a sneaky pick for breakout star. Offensive line Starters: LT Kavion Broussard , LG Malachi Breland , C Caden Kitler , RG Kobe Branham , RT Bryant Williams Backups: LT Josiah Clemons , LG Davion Weatherspoon , C Kash Courtney , RG Aaron Smith , RT Adam Hawkes Arkansas’ offensive line seems to have been set since the start of spring ball, as the same five rolled out with the first team throughout. The returning starters are Caden Kitler at center and Kobe Branham at right guard, and they brought in a physically massive guy in Bryant Williams to play tackle. Left tackle has belonged to returner Kavion Broussard, though it’s worth noting that Steven Soles Jr. got two sacks off his edge. One thing that will be interesting to watch in the tackle department is if the coaching staff opts to flip the tackles depending on who ends up being the starting quarterback. Jackson is a lefty and Hill is a righty, which makes the blindside different depending on who QB1 ends up being. It hasn’t been the case through the spring, but in the fall the staff may elect to flip Broussard and Williams based on who gets the nod at quarterback.
