Is PJ learning how to step on the gas?
Summary
QB/OL: I predict the Gophers will throw the ball more this season than even the Max Brosmer season because that's what the personnel says they should do.
I predict the Gophers will throw the ball more this season than even the Max Brosmer season because that's what the personnel says they should do. The best players on the offense are the QB, maybe a WR, and a RB who is more effective catching passes out of the backfield than running the ball. The OL appears to be significantly better at pass protection than run blocking. They threw it to Rashod Bateman and Tyler Johnson a lot when they had them. They ran like a service academy when the best players were the running back and some future NFL linemen. I respect that PJ and his coordinators don't try to force college players into a system that doesn't suit their best players. I don't think any change is some kind of emotional or philosophical change about football, just calling the plays with the guys they've got.
