GPC's FIVE OBSERVATIONS
-It's nice to see Tanner Morley log 14 snaps on offense. After his status for the season opener was in jeopardy, it appears he's ahead of schedule and will be a full-time contributor sooner rather than later.
-With a rating of 46.6, Linkon Cure can serve as a reminder to take some of these ratings with a grain of salt. Was Cure a superstar in this game? No, but he absolutely was not a liability or anything like that.
-On offense, nobody saw more than 46 snaps, meaning nobody saw more than 64 percent of the team's snaps. So, so many guys got valuable reps, even if it's just against a poor Nicholls team.
-Switching gears to defense, nobody saw more than 40 snaps, meaning nobody saw more than 69 percent of the team's snaps. Not as "good" as offense in this regard, but you'll absolutely take this in game No. 1.
-Let's not overreact to anything from just one game, but Wendell Gregory, relative to preseason hype, left a lot to be desired. His 64.8 rating is barely above average — his rating should have been one of the team's best. Last season at Oklahoma State, he had three sacks against his FCS opponent. He was much quieter this time around.
