Big booster like PeteE got their feelings hurt because Gundy wasn’t “nice” to them. Wouldn’t give them the time of day - he just wanted to coach football. A campaign was started to get him fired. They succeed. Now we’re stuck with someone who is clearly in over his head! Gundy’s biggest mistakes late in his career. 1. Hiring Kasey Dunn (who everyone was begging him to hire before he did it) 2. Missing on a QB. After Sanders his QB evaluation missed. Some of that is also on Dunn and offensive staff We’d be better off with Gundy than we are today.
