From Stewart Mandel of the Athletic: I’m not sure it’s ever safe to fully buy in on Pitt, which always seems to start like gangbusters and still manages to go 8-5. But Pat Narduzzi has his most talented QB since Kenny Pickett in Mason Heintschel, who took over as starter midway through his freshman season last year. On Saturday, he broke an ACC record and tied a school record with his seven touchdown passes in a 59-14 beatdown of an always decent mid-major, Miami (Ohio). In doing so, he became the first FBS quarterback to pass for at least 450 yards and seven touchdowns without throwing an interception since … ready for this? … LSU’s Joe Burrow in 2019. Narduzzi, with a star quarterback and one of his usually salty defenses, could be awfully fun to watch this year.
