I agree with Trey

What quality QB out there with good experience do you think we should of gone after if we were willing to pay something like ... show more Im not sure, honestly once they made it clear they were keeping KJ I kind of tuned out the QB transfer portal news across the sport. I think RS looked at the funds available, looked at the going rates for high quality transfers, and made a calculated decision to keep some level of continuity with KJ while spreading out the money elsewhere as others have mentioned. Based on his performance in the Mizzou game (11/17, 126 Yards, 1 TD) I think he saw KJ as someone with a base level of athletic potential, which isn’t incorrect. He probably also knows he has two years at least here, and is possibly looking forward to what KJs full potential could be next season after a full season of starts in the SEC under his belt. Idk, he made the decision he made, we’ll see if it works out and I pray it does for all of our sakes. Side note on KJ, in the Texas and Mizzou games last year he did show some flashes of real potential with some of his throws and reads, but I believe part of that is he literally had nothing to lose at that point. Regardless of what RS said, he definitely was playing a bit timid Saturday. I think if he can get in the right headspace, he can certainly be serviceable.
